Brendan was invited to participate in a unique and very worthy project. A book about the life of a three-legged puppy named Baby will be published in June of ’08 by Simon and Schuster. It will tell the story of Baby as a puppy mill survivor who was raised in confinement for use as a breeding dog, right up until her rescue by Jana Kohl.
This book is primarily made up of pictures to draw attention to animal confinement and abuse. The support for this concern has clearly been overwhelming. Each page will feature a picture of a well-known personality with Baby. Among them include:
Barack Obama, Bill Maher, Lindsay Lohan, Jane Fonda, Peter Max, Moby, John Walsh, James Cromwell, Mariel Hemingway, Martina Navitalova
Look for it in book stores everywhere beginning in June. For more information you may visit the website.

Currently in production, this feature-length documentary film will capture Brendan’s fast-paced life following him from his professional Ironman days, to formulator of one of the most highly respected nutritional products in the industry and now best-selling author on health and nutrition. Chronicling his bike accident in 2004 that ended his professional athletic career, the film will show how Brendan’s life was transformed in an instant and how his resourcefulness took a seemingly negative situation and opened another door. This career-changing event served as the platform on which he wrote The Thrive Diet, and formulated the award-winning Vega nutritional line. The film will take the viewer on an in-depth journey along-side Brendan on his intense book tour schedule, his training regime and among other things, will include candid conversations from the road. It will also cover his political involvement in Washington, from speaking on Capital hill to lobbying against the Farm Bill. Set for release in January 2009.

Along with other experts on health and fitness, Brendan is in a new feature-length film called Back from the Edge. Being touted as the first-of-its-kind adventure, health/wellness film, Back from the Edge explores the murky nature of our dependence on pharmaceutical drugs and an overwrought medical profession focused on restorative health; all the while almost completely neglecting prevention. It also shines a bright light on North America's depleted and toxin laden foods, and its startling ignorance when it comes to different solutions that can lead to better health.
From the director:
"Having raced Ironman triathlons professionally for six years, Brendan brings a unique prospective to our film that few can. As a bestselling author and formulator of whole food nutritional products, Brendan's a leading authority on attaining peak health and performance through plant-based whole foods. We're delighted to have him in Back from the Edge."
Randall Blaum Director, Back from the Edge
