Green Smoothies - (Great for detox!)

These smoothies are a bit of a departure from others since they have green leafy vegetables added.

Romaine lettuce is deceptively sweet and of course rich in chlorophyll, as is the chlorella in the Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer. The two combined are powerful cleansers. Blended with melon, this smoothie has an especially “fresh” taste.

Before we launched our new Vega Whole Food Energy Bars, I made these bars up myself, a fresh batch each week. No cooking required; all you need is a food processor.

Vega Chocolate Almond Smoothie

Just blend together and enjoy!

  • 1/2 serving Chocolate Vega
  • 2 cups cold water (or 1½ cups water plus 1 cup of ice)
  • 1 banana
  • ½ pear
  • ¼ cup almonds (soak raw almonds overnight)
